Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Extended access appointments

Depending on your individual circumstances and symptoms, we may offer you an ‘extended access’ appointment. These are appointments provided outside of normal surgery hours, Monday to Friday 6:30pm to 8.30pm, Saturdays 9am to 5 pm, Sundays and Bank Holidays 10am to 2pm.

Please note however, that these appointments will not at the Masharani Practice and may not be with one of your usual GPs or nurses. They are a mix of telephone and face-to-face appointments which will be confirmed with you on booking.

Depending on the reason for your appointment, and if you are in agreement, it may be suitable for you to see an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, instead of a GP.

The clinician you see will be able to access relevant sections of your medical notes and will communicate what has happened during your appointment back to your usual GP practice.

These appointments will be available at the following locations:

  • Charnwood Surgery (Mountsorrel) – 7 days a week
  • The Centre Surgery (Hinckley) – 7 days a week
  • Castle Medical Group (Ashby) or Long Lane Surgery (Coalville) (alternating weeks) – 7 days a weeks
